Welcome to TNSAA 2022-2023

About the workshop:

From the invention of DMRG by Steven R. White in 1992, DMRG and its generalizations in the form of Tensor Network States have played important roles in many aspects of physics, including condensed matter physics, statistical physics, quantum chemistry, nuclear physics, and machine learning. This series of workshops, Tensor Network States: Algorithms and Applications (TNSAA), is organized to showcase the recent development of both advances in algorithms and their applications in the discovery of new physics. This year, TNSAA 2023 will be held in Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, China from August 21st to 24th, 2023 (arrive on 20th and leave on 25th). We will continue the tradition by inviting experts in the field of Tensor Network States to share the latest developments and their perspectives on future directions. At the same time, we will invite a few experts in other fields like Quantum Monte Carlo and Machine Learning with the hope that new ideas can emerge with communications between different fields.

In Shanghai's vibrant realm of thought,
Where minds in harmony were sought,
A conference grand, Tensor's embrace,
Unveiling secrets in algorithms' grace.

"Tensor Network States" its banner flew,
A symphony of knowledge, old and new,
From DMRG's birth to fields profound,
Physics, chemistry, where insights abound.

In Shanghai's halls, minds intertwined,
A scholarly dance, intellects aligned,
From Coulomb's dance to spin's wild swirl,
Experts converged, wisdom's pearls unfurl.

The talks, a tapestry of wisdom's bloom,
A kaleidoscope from lecture room to room,
From quenched states to chiral's dance,
Each topic led minds in an intellectual trance.

On Kagome's lattice, spins took flight,
Antiferromagnetic, a mesmerizing sight,
Quantics, tensor trains paved pathways vast,
Quantum fields emerged, the future cast.

Nuclear norms embraced TRG's quest,
Entanglement's tale put to the test,
Finite depths, stable entangled beams,
Through tensors' message, they shared dreams.

Amidst the skyscrapers' towering embrace,
Banquet's ascent, a remarkable place,
Ninety-third floor, a Shanghai high,
Shared in joy beneath the starlit sky.

Suzhou's excursion, gardens and temple's grace,
A journey through time, a humid embrace,
A pair of pants, a tower's delight,
In manifold's math, imagination took flight.

Fancy hotel's embrace, a haven grand,
Where scholarly minds walked hand in hand,
Conference echoes, knowledge shared,
A symposium's legacy, minds truly bared.

As Shanghai's curtain falls on this tale,
The conference's echo, a lasting trail,
Tensor's network, connections spun,
A journey of discovery, brilliantly done.
